Pool Filter I have a 15'x30'x52" above ground pool with a deep end using a 1hp pump and
a Hayward c550 filter. It seems I have to clean my filter every other day.
When I put a clean filter in the pressure is about 16lbs, within two hours
the pressure is up to about 21lbs with very little suction or output. I
never had problems with my old pool and sand filter, any suggestions?

Hayward A.O. Smith Pump Motor Replacement I have a hot tub with 2 Hayward motors, 1 a single speed and the other a 2 speed motor. About 3 weeks ago we had to replace the single speed motor (actually the blower for the air bubbles). We did this through our local tub dealership. Now the main motor is making a noise as if there was no oil in the motor (a louder than normal, metal sound), however the motor is functioning fine. Should I replace it, and if so, do I replace the entire motor or a particular part. I know you can't diagnose via e-mail, however I'm counting on this being a very common problem and any help you can give will be much appreciated. The tub is about 6 years old and the motor is a 11/2 -1/6 HP, Model # 548M2A10A1.

<< I am looking to purchase a 21 foot round 52 inch deep pool. I am going to sink it in the ground 16-24 inches. I was going to buy a Hayward Superpump but I was told that it was too powerful to use on an above ground pool.( it would blow out the wall where the return was). I was told that a 1 1/2 horse Pak-Fab with a75 sq ft cartridge filer was more than enough.
I had a Hayward New York now I am in southern Florida. I want to run the filtration system on the high end! What do you suggest?

I was happy to find your web site and I hope you can help. The impeller
housing for our spa is leaking in a big way.
The pump motor is a Hayward Power - Flow Pump, Magnetec, P/N 8177192-02
The Impeller Housing Model Number is SP15114X152, S/N 630D23
I have dissembled the impeller housing and I think I need the following
items, however, if you have any suggestions please be free with your advise.
1. "O" ring - This is the large "O" ring between the two halves of the
impeller housing - see photo titled Housing O ring. The O ring doesn't
show any nicks or splits so I don't know why it is leaking. Could I use
gasket material in place of the O ring?
2. Impeller Seal/spring - This is the rubber seal that sits inside a
spring. It appears that part of the shaft that the seal and spring sits on
is thin and some of the metal may have eroded. I couldn't find a means to
move the metal off the impeller spindle. I am not sure that I really need
a new impeller because the impeller is in good shape. In the photo,
Impeller2, you can see the part that I am describing and to the left side
of the image at the top of the impeller spindle a small opening near the
detent that holds seal and spring.
4. Ceramic seal - This is the white ceramic seal at the back of the
impeller housing that seals against the motor shaft. See the photo -
Impeller case with seals. Since I couldn't see any damage to the O ring,
do you suppose the leak was actually at this ceramic seal and dripping down
toward the base of the impeller housing? Just wondering.
new Pump Motor The motor for my Pool Pump stopped working last fall and I'm trying to find
a replacement.
The Pump says SwimQuip on it, and the motor appears to be a Centurion 2
speed motor, 3/4 HP, Part 8-190083-01.
One part with a metal tag (I'm not sure if its part of pump or motor) said
Model 16882.
Can you tell me what kind of motor I need?
How much would it (and a new seal?) cost?
Do you have it in stock?
I live 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, so if you have a local store I

ao smith motors my pump motor just burned out! I need to buy a replacement
and I live in rural Arkansas and the only way to find one is internet or
mailorder so I'm looking for a motor in 1 1/2 hp for my inground pool
and need help finding a place to buy one my catalogs at hand do not
have any in them, help? the one in it now is an ao smith and also says
American products on it, too. I have all kinds of numbers on it too,
but not sure which ones count. >>

I need to replace a Kayak TD-40 (or TA-40D) fiberglass sand filter drum.
The valve is good working order, but the tank is cracked. I don't have the
info to convert from a 40 gallon tank to the diameter tanks you advertise.
Also, would it be possible to simply replace the tank and keep the existing
filter. If so, can you give me a price, delivered, for the tank alone and
a good replacement system (tank and valve). This is an above ground
application.

JUST PURCHASED A KAYAK POOL LAST YEAR THAT HAS A STA-RITE FILETER MODEL 100. THE BOOK I HAVE IS NO HELP TO ME AS FAR AS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS. WHERE CAN I GET SOME INSTRUCTIONS THAT WILL HELP ME TO:
1. KNOW WHAT POSITION THE ARROW SHOW POINT FOR THE OPERATIONS. WHEN MY POOL WAS DELIVERED, THEY HAND DREW WHAT THE SETTINGS SHOULD BE. ( IE. NORMAL OPERATION, VACUUMING ETC.)
2. KNOW WHAT HOSES TO CONNECT FROM MY (1) INCOMING SKIMMER (2) OUTFLOWING SKIMMER BACK TO MY POOL (3) BOTTOM DRAIN ETC.
AS I SAID BEFORE THE STA-RITE MANUAL I PRESENTLY HAVE IS NOT VERY CLEAR WITH PICTURE SHOWING ME THE ABOVE.

Above ground pool pump I have an 18' round above ground pool with a noisy old Hayward pump. I would like to find a pump that is quiet (as it sits right beside our deck). It also must be fully weather proof. The pump sits outside and is exposed to rain. Are all these pumps designed to be exposed to the elements?

Vista spa hot tub pump I have a Vista spa hot tub and I need a new pump. The old pump is an emerson 1081 and 1795 Motor. It is thermally protected and drip proof. It is 230 VAC and 3 HP with a SPL designatioin. It is two speed either 3450 or 1725. It is also continuous use class B. The spa is a DX series and is about 4-6 years old. Do you carry the motor and how much is it?

Replacement Pool Pump have been informed by my renters that the pool pump motor is corroded and is not working properly. The model of the pump was IS-1500X-94 and I would like to replace this pump with the newer but similar model. Our pool is above ground and holds 20,000 gallons. Which model would you recommend and how much would it cost, plus the shipping to Cincinnati area in Ohio. I was looking at the purchase order for my pool and I think that it was a 1HP motor.
